What this workflow means in RevOps terms
Renewal management is the operating workflow that turns a future commercial obligation into an owned customer decision. In RevOps terms, it begins before a renewal opportunity reaches a forecast. The team must identify the correct account and subscription or contract, distinguish the binding renewal and notice dates from internal planning dates, assign commercial and customer-success ownership, inspect meaningful customer evidence, and create a dated next action. The workflow ends only when the renewal, expansion, contraction, cancellation, or other reviewed outcome is recorded consistently across the CRM and the authoritative commercial systems. A dashboard that lists upcoming dates is useful, but it is not a complete renewal process. The process must show why an account entered review, which source supports the date and amount, who accepted the work, what the customer has confirmed, which blocker remains open, and how connected records are reconciled after the decision.
